The fourth industrial revolution, known as Industry 4.0 promotes digitization of complex industrial tasks. This trend initially benefited the manufacturing industry and by extension, the construction industry using 3D printing and now additive manufacturing (AM). Being the newest technology, it is considered to be one of the main drivers in the digitalization of the construction industry. 

3D printing has proved to be extremely useful in the architecture industry. It greatly helps save time and money whether it is building concept models or entire structures thereby benefiting both designers and their clients by giving them the option to quickly change a concept model at a relatively low cost.
